Also known as: Alpine Shepherd, Alpie, Alpine Header Dog

Origin: Alpine region of Germany

Height at shoulder: 14–18 inches (37–47 cm)

Weight: 13–40 pounds (6–18 kg)

Coat: Short, medium, or long; medium texture

Color: Black, black and brown, black and gray, blue and red merle, blond, silver gray; may have tan and/or white points

Ears: Semi-erect, upright with rounded tips and dropped (folded over)

Tail: Long
