Ardennes Cowdog – 1913

Bouvier des Ardennes

Also known as:Ardennes Cowdog, Bouvier d’Ardennes

Height at shoulder: 20–24 inches (52–62 cm)

Weight: 48–77 pounds (22–35 kg)

Coat: Short, harsh, tousled, with eyebrows, mustache, and goatee

Color: Mixture of grey, black, and fawn hairs; shades of gray, brownish, red, or straw colored

Ears: Upright

Tail: Natural bob; sometimes tailless

Bouvier des Flandres

Also known as: Flanders or Flemish Cowdog

Height at shoulder: 22–28 inches (56–71 cm)

Weight: 60–100 pounds (27–45 kg)

Coat: Tousled, harsh, heavily coated head with shaggy eyebrows, mustache, and thick beard

Color: Fawn, gray, black, salt and pepper, brindle

Ears: Folded over or cropped upright

Tail: Tailless or docked

Bouvier des Roulers

Also known as: Roeselare Cowdog, Belgian Bouvier des Flandres, Bouvier Pikhaar (harsh hair)

Origin: Belgium

Height at shoulder: 22–28 inches (56–70 cm)

Weight: 60–100 pounds (27–45 kg)

Coat: Semilong, wiry, brows, mustache, and beard

Color: Black

Ears: Folded over or cropped upright

Tail: High-set natural bob or cropped
